Cultural Learning of Scotland for Make Benefit Glorious Nation Germany

23 June 2008

As a tribute to the international fan base of my blog (currently 3 views/month, including my own), I shall from now on continue to write in a language which is close to English.

What has happened since the last post?
The cultural attaché left Scotland and made it home in his very own state carriage, causing general astonishment. After Ted achieved this tour the force, he was given the coup de grâce. Ok, I sold him.
In loving memory:

As a sign of mourning, nobody was wearing black, but a new camera was bought. Which was black. Was; of which more later.

After such a long time away from my native customs and rites, first thing to do was catching up with some traditional north German sports.

  • Dragonfighting

Drachenkämpfen

I had to travel to Bremen to meet the brave dragon breeders, and they arranged a fight for me the very evening!

  • Breakwater stealing

As a maritime nation a private breakwater was always a sign of wealth. Over the years it became a popular sport to nick them somewhere and drop them off somewhere else. Still in Bremen, the forecourt of the central station seemed the right place to unload them and take a wee sit down.

More to come tomorrow!
